On the 12th of May 2026, Shauna Tiffany stood on a stage in London and collected The King's Trust National Young Changemaker Award. For anyone who knows Shauna's story, they will understand exactly what that moment meant.
Shauna grew up in the care system. Without a strong family foundation, without a safety net and without the kind of backing that so many people take for granted. She has spoken openly about what that felt like. The uncertainty. The feeling of having to figure everything out alone. The absence of people in your corner when things got hard.
The King's Trust became something different for her. It became the support she never had but always needed.
With guidance from The King's Trust Enterprise programme, Shauna was able to take an idea rooted in her own experience and turn it into something real. That idea became Lighthouse Therapy Hub. A practice built on the belief that play and creative therapy can help rewire the brain, heal childhood trauma and give people the tools to build a life they are proud of. To date, Lighthouse Therapy Hub has helped over 400 people access therapeutic support.
Shauna is now a King's Trust Young Ambassador, working alongside schools and local councils to make sure the right support reaches the people who need it most. Her message is simple and consistent. Finding the right support at the right time changes everything. Especially when you do not have a strong support network to fall back on during the difficult moments.
Receiving the National Young Changemaker Award at a ceremony in London was a recognition not just of what she has built, but of what she represents. A care leaver who took everything she had been through and built something that means other children do not have to go through it alone.
