Shauna Tiffany on Happy Place: Why Play Therapy Changes Everything
In May 2026, Lighthouse Therapy Hub founder Shauna Tiffany sat down with Fearne Cotton on the Happy Place podcast. Honest, warm and completely herself, Shauna delivered one of the most compelling conversations the podcast has seen.

Shauna talked about growing up in foster care. About the shame that followed her for years. About feeling like the choices made around her somehow said something about her worth. These are not easy things to say out loud. But Fearne created the kind of space that made it possible, and Shauna met that with a level of openness and courage that left listeners genuinely moved.
Running through the whole conversation was play therapy. Shauna shared how creative and play-based approaches helped her begin to make sense of her own childhood, giving her a language for things she had never been able to name. That personal experience became the foundation for Lighthouse Therapy Hub, a practice built on the belief that creativity unlocks what words alone never could.
Then came the moment nobody saw coming.
Live on the podcast, Fearne revealed that Shauna had won The King's Trust National Young Changemaker Award. The shock was real. The emotion was real. And the experience of receiving that award on stage at the Royal Albert Hall shortly afterwards is something Shauna will never forget.
That day in London was a reflection of everything Lighthouse Therapy Hub stands for. Every child who grows up feeling unseen deserves a space to be heard. Every adult still carrying the weight of a difficult childhood deserves the tools to put it down. That is what this practice was built for.
